Top 10 Most Romantic Cities in the World

February is the month of love (because of 14th February, of course). Flowers, roses and balloons everywhere that you cannot miss the romance. Today’s article is dedicated to the most romantic cities in the world. If you and your partner think about a place where to relax and just enjoy the romance all around you, here are the most romantic cities in the world. Some of them are quite obvious, like Paris or Venice, but others you did not imagine how overwhelming they could be.

1 Kyoto, Japan

In the past this was the imperial capital of Japan for more than a thousand years. It is also called “City of Ten Thousand Shrines”. There are a lot of temples and shrines that have survived many wars, including WW2. And if you decide to visit this city make sure it is during the spring when the cherry blossoms (Sakura) fall from the trees like pink rain.

2 Venice, Italy

The home town of Giacomo Casanova (the famous heart-breaker) and thousands of courtesans (goddesses of love) in the past. Nowadays Venice remains one of the most romantic cities in the world with its gondolas and gondoliers and the old historical buildings. You can feel like a royalty in a fairy tale.

3 Vienna, Austria

This is probably not the first city that comes to your mind when you think of romance. But actually it has a lot to offer to all the love birds visiting it – a round on the famous Riesenrad Ferris wheel, romantic riverside promenades, pedals made for two, and a horse-drawn carriage ride through the city.

4 Seville, Andalusia

The capital and the largest city of Andalusia is situated on the plain of the river Guadalquivir. There are a lot of theme parks, museums, clubs and, of course, La Giralda Tower and Seville Cathedral.

5 Lisabon, Portugal

There are so many romantic things you can do in the capital of Portugal that will blow your mind. You can visit the famous Vasco da Gama Bridge, the best viewpoint in Lisabon Miradouro de Nossa Senhora do Monte, the Oceanarium de Lisabon and the gorgeous suburb Alfama.

6 San Sebastian, Spain

There are a lot of historical monuments and parts of the city. If it is summer you can pay a visit to the lovely white beaches, or you can pay a visit to Monte Igueldo where you will feel like a bird being able to observe this amazing view.

7 Bruges, Belgium

This old-age city preserves a lot of medieval architecture monuments. What is romantic and inspiring about it is that you can feel like a royalty or a damsel in distress among these historical buildings. There you can visit The Church of Our Lady, The Basilica of the Holy Blood, The Beguinage and many others.

8-10 Rome, Italy; Florence, Italy; Paris, France

These are the most obvious and famous destinations. It is no wonder that Italy has the three cities in this list. France has only one, but it is Paris after all. Even if your partner is not a romantic person, he will become one after a trip to these cities.
