How to Get Yourself to Drink More Water

Water is the ultimate to key to success in any beauty or health routine and if you want your body, skin and hair to be beautiful and healthy, it should become a vital element of your life. Not drinking water can lead to many problems. For instance, your kidneys might not be able to remove toxins from your organism as efficiently or headaches and stomachaches may occur. Overall, dehydration can lead to many complications in your health, so it is quite important to consume a good amount on a daily basis.

Your weight loss attempts and your overall appearance also benefit from decent amounts of water consumed every day.  Even the best moisturizing products will not be enough to save your dehydrated skin and hair if you do not supply your body with enough water. Also, drinking water can suppress your appetite and help you with your diet plan. Not to mention that your energy levels definitely go up: and without these awful energy drinks or huge cups of espresso!

The amount of water you should drink is somewhat subjective, but most sources claim that a litre and a half is the absolute minimum: meaning about eight glasses a day. Let’s say you are awake for sixteen hours: this means a glass every two hours! Sounds easy, doesn’t it? Well, the bad news is not many people do it. So what are some good strategies to get yourself drinking more water?

First of all, some people complain that it has a “boring taste”, so why not flavor it! There are many brands that offer flavored water in store. However, the healthier version is definitely to do it on your own. Cut lemons and throw them in ice cold water. Or maybe cucumber, berries, even herbs? You can choose whatever you like and you will not go wrong!

Another thing you can do is get a reusable water bottle, preferably one with a filter, so that you can get water from the tab anytime. These come in different sizes: some are about half a litre, others go as much as 750ml! Filling it up and having it around constantly will get you to drink a lot more. Besides, if the bottle is pretty, it will be easier for you to remember to use it!

A third option is simply to set an alarm that goes off every twenty or thirty minutes to remind you to have some water. This one is for the most absent-minded, but calm people, since these alarms might get annoying!

It is also a good idea to keep a bottle or a glass of water on your bed stand, so that you can start drinking as soon as you get up. Have a glass five minutes before every meal and five minutes after it. This will definitely increase your water intake!

Hopefully you will get into more water drinking!
